Generic Cutter Q&A
Q:  The Cutter's USB driver does not appear, or appears in device manager correctly with no errors, but the Cutter stops shortly after starting a job or it does not respond at all? (not even "working laser")
A:  Please make sure the original USB cable is used, WITHOUT an extension cable, and without being plugged into a USB Hub.  Please also try plugging the cutter into different USB ports.  If using a 3rd party cable, make sure it is USB 2.0 and as short as possible.

Q:  The cutter says "Data Receiving" after sending a job, or "Working Laser" but there is no response, what is the issue?
A:  This can be caused by setting an incorrect baud rate.  Please refer to these Guides on which baud rate to choose.

Q:  There is a "Port error" or "Communication error" when sending the job, even though I have the correct COM port selected.  What is causing this?
A:  This can happen when more than one device shares the same COM port number.

Q:  The Vinyl/other media is tracking really badly, as if a pinch-roller is broke?
A:  Please make sure the pinch-roller wheels are in line with the gritted wheels on the feed roller.  Not all machines have a continuous feed roller.

Q:  Why does the Cutter stop mid-way through cutting or plotting?
A:  You need to make sure the origin of the cartridge is set to the right hand side of the machine, if the problem persists then it may be the memory of the machine -- in this case you need to either simplify or split the design or send the job to a cutter with more memory.

Q:  The cuts are distorted, but only from one side of the cutter, why is this?
A:  This can be caused by a worn pinch-roller or cutting strip.  Please check the cutting strip and pinch-roller grip on the side which is exhibiting the problem.

Q:  Why doesn't the optical eye functionality work correctly in SignCut Pro?
A:  There is a minor bug in the latest SignCut Pro ouput drivers which is currently being addressed.  For now, version 1.95 works fine, which you can download here:

http://signcutpro.com/files/1.95/scpro.exe (Windows OS)

EH / MH series

Q:  The horizontal feed rollers seem to be stuck or jammed, how do i fix this?
A:  This can happen when the bar is dislodged from the small bearing. Please refer to this video Guide for the solution: EH/MH Series Fixing Stuck Rollers

Q:  Why does the cutter stop before finishing a job?
A:  Make sure the pen/blade origin, media/tile/etc size are set accordingly and that the design fits within the dimensions.  if the cutter still stops before finishing the job, then the design may be too complex.  The EH / MH series have a very limited memory so the design would have to be simplified or split into jobs/tiles if possible.
SC series

Q:  Why does the cartridge make a loud noise and run into the side continuously?
A:  The cartridge has come loose from the rail.  Secure the cartridge back on the rail by firmly pressing it forwards and side-to-side in a walking motion.  Please also make sure the cartridge is still hitting the stop-limiter.  Please refer to this video, and this video.

Q:  The Cartridge and Belt have both come loose and are hanging off, how do I fix this?
A:  Please refer to This Video

Q:  How do I set the SC up on Linux OS?
A:  please refer to this Guide
CS series

Q:  How do I get the SD card to work with the CS series?
A:  please refer to this Guide

Q:  Why does the Cutter stop mid-way through cutting or plotting?
A:  The Creation series of cutters do not automatically move the cartridge to the right hand side as the origin when switched on.  You need to make sure the origin of the cartridge is set to the right hand side of the machine.

A:  This can be caused by setting an incorrect baud rate.  Please refer to these Settings

Q:  Why are there black rectangles displayed on the control panel?
A:  The cartridge has hit the stop switch.  Turn the cutter off, and gently nudge the cartridge away from the stop switch.  Turn the cutter back on.  Make sure the pen/blade origin is set correctly and also make sure the design is within the dimensions of the cutting area
HF series

Q:  The cutter says "OUT OF BREADTH" after sending a job or test cut, what is the issue?
A:  This happens when the Origin point has been set to a "negative" value,  please press RESET on the machine.  When setting the Origin point again, make sure not to set the Origin point past the reset point.

Q:  The cuts have begun to look jagged or rough, what is causing this?
A:  This can be caused by worn cartridge wheels.  You may need to oil the rail or possibly replace the cartridge.  Please contact us directly regarding this, as it may be due to something else and could be remedied without replacing a part.
CB series

Q:  Why does the Cutter stop mid-way through cutting or plotting?

A:  The Creation series of cutters do not automatically move the cartridge to the right hand side as the origin when switched on.  You need to make sure the origin of the cartridge is set to the right hand side of the machine.

Q:  Why does the Bluetooth functionality not work properly?
A:  This can be caused by some Bluetooth adaptors if they are installed onthe same machine as the Cutter's bluetooth adaptor.

Please navigate to windows device manager and right-click -> disable any other Bluetooth radios/adaptors.  After disabling the other Bluetooth adaptor, the functionality shouldwork.  Ideally, one should use just the Bluetooth adaptor dongle that came with the CB.
TC series TC Series

Q: I am trying to Contour Cut from SignCut Pro, why is the TC not responding to Arrow Key presses?
A:  You need to use this FTDI USB <-> RS232 Serial converter with the RS232 Serial cable of the TC series.  The TC series uses a different type of chipset to most other cutters on the market which renders the current version of  SignCut Pro contour cutting unresponsive.
SMURF Series SMURF Series

Q: I am sending an Auto-Contour Cut job to the SMURF, but it isn't detecting the first mark. What is the problem?
A:  Please follow this Guide: UKCutter SMURF Setup Guide
In particular you need to make sure that the Pen/Blade is positioned correctly by the first mark.

Q: I am sending an Auto-Contour Cut job to the SMURF, but it only scans the first mark and does not detect the rest. What is the problem?
A:  You need to make sure to print the image at 100% size. Another factor is the SCALE setting on the SMURF -- press mode several times on the SMURF until SCALE X and SCALE Y appears, they need to be set at 1000:1000 or 10000:10000

Q: The LCD screen graphics are corrupted and glitched, what is the cause and how do i fix it?
A:  This can happen when the ribbon connection between the motherboard and screen is loose. Please check both ends of the ribbon and make sure it is installed securely

Generic Sublimation / Heatpress
Pressure Adjustment Knob
Q:  The handle on the Heatpress is not locking/clicking into place, why is this?
A:  This can happen when the pressure has been adjusted too much.  Please hold the handle down while turning the pressure adjustment knob Anti-Clockwise.  After some adjustment, the handle should be able to click and lock into place when pressed down. The presure adjustment knob is shown in the image to the left
Pressure Adjustment Knob Stuck Q:  The pressure/height adjustment knob is stuck, how do I get it to move again?
A:  This can be rectified by the following procedure;  first unscrew the knob.  Once unscrewed, give the pressure bolt a firm shake to dislodge it from being stuck at the sides.  Once free, you can screw the nut and knob back on.  When screwing the knob back on make sure to tighten the nut to the top handle as tight as possible first, so that when it is turned it works with the rest of the pressure/height changing mechanism.

22oz beer mug beer stein sublimation heat press guide which size mug wrap mug mat 22oz Beer Stein/Mug

Q:  I cannot find 22oz mug mats/wraps, which type can I use with this item?
A:  This beer stein can be sublimated onto using a regular 10/11oz mug mat.

Q:  The temperature is not rising, but it was rising before?
A:  This can be due to a used Mug Mat.  Mug Mats are consumable items with a limited lifespan.  We recommend business owners have spare Mats so they can be replaced promptly when one is depleted.

Q:  The pressed image is faded at the parts closest to the handle.
A:  This can be resolved by increasing the pressure of the Mug Press so that the edges of the mat are pressing firmly onto the mug.  Please follow this Video on how to set the pressure.

SignGo FAQ SignGo Pro / SignGo Lite

Q:  My cutter is not listed, or it is not responding correctly.  What is the issue?
A:  The versions of SignGo we ship come on a USB dongle.  The program must be updated before installing to get the best results.  Please follow our software setup guides on how to update both the program, and the list of cutter drivers.  You can find the guides here:  Software Setup Guides
Flexi 10 issues FAQ contour cutting Flexi 10

Q:  Why is my Creation or Refine cutter not listed in the list of cutters?
A:  The LiYu version of Flexi 10 is restricted to LiYu cutters only.  You must install separate output drivers for Creation & Refine cutters.  You may download the output drivers here:  Output Drivers

Once downloaded, please copy the contents of the "OutputDrivers" folder in the archive over to the "OutputDrivers" folder in Flexi's program directory (C:\program files(x86)\Flexi / Sai ...)

Now after production manager has been restarted your cutter should be listed.

Q:  It is saying the password is wrong and does not match, what is the problem?
A:  Firstly, please make sure you are entering the password correctly -- sometimes certain letters are misread (I, l, J, U, etc).

If it still says the password does not match then you may need to update the dongle drivers, you can download them here: Safenet Sentinel Drivers

Kindly contact us if the problem still remains.
Inkscape issues FAQ contour cutting Inkscape

Q:  Sending an image directly to SignCut Pro causes it to crash, what am I doing wrong?
A:  This can happen if SignCut or Inkscape are not the latest version.  Please make sure both programs are up to date.

If the problem still occurs, please make sure you are sending only vector data to SignCut.  If you have opened a raster/bitmap image in Inkscape, it must be "traced" into a vector path first.

Please follow this tutorial on how to Vectorise images using Inkscape:  Tracing Bitmaps
